About the Role
Bask is seeking a Senior Back-End Software Engineer who will work closely with the CEO and CTO to develop and scale the core infrastructure behind our telehealth platform. The backend of our system is serverless, built using modern frameworks like Next.js and SST. The goal is to create efficient, scalable, and secure services that power an advanced multi-tenant application.
This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working across the full development lifecycle — from designing systems to deploying solutions that bring measurable value to users. You’ll take ownership of critical services, help shape architecture decisions, and contribute to the growth of an innovative healthcare platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend systems using modern technologies and best practices.
- Develop scalable and reliable services using Node.js, TypeScript, and serverless architecture.
- Work with AWS services such as Lambda, SQS, and EventBridge to support complex integrations.
- Collaborate closely with product and frontend teams to ensure seamless functionality.
- Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and agile development practices.
- Contribute to process improvements and engineering standards across teams.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, and Node.js.
- Hands-on experience with SQL databases and schema design.
- Knowledge of SST, AWS Lambda, SQS, and related AWS services.
- Experience working on production-grade applications or paid products.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to design efficient backend solutions.
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, startup environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Bonus Qualifications
- Familiarity with Drizzle ORM or other modern database tools.
- Prior experience building products from scratch (0 to 1 phase).
- Exposure to Next.js and React.js for full-stack collaboration.
