 About the Role

As a Platform Engineer Intern, you will collaborate with experienced engineers to build and enhance backend features that improve the stability, performance, and scalability of the Appwrite platform. 


You will actively participate in code reviews, identify and resolve technical issues, and help document system architecture and APIs.Interns will also get hands‑on experience with cloud deployment processes and CI/CD tools. The role encourages exploration of new technologies and innovative solutions that strengthen the Appwrite ecosystem.


 Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain backend services and APIs.
  • Participate in code reviews and follow best coding practices.
  • Troubleshoot bugs and suggest effective fixes.
  • Work with cloud technologies and deployment pipelines.
  • Assist in documenting system architecture and processes.
  • Research and experiment with new technologies for platform improvement.


 Requirements

  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of backend programming (Node.js, PHP, or Python).
  • Understanding of REST APIs and microservices.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or similar tools.
  • Basic experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or DigitalOcean.
  • Strong problem-solving attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.


 Bonus Points

Candidates with prior contributions to open-source projects, especially within Appwrite’s community, will stand out. Using Appwrite in personal or academic projects is also a plus.
