The Data Engineer II role is a key technical and strategic position within Magnet Forensics’ Data & Analytics Team.

Key Responsibilities
- Build and optimize robust data pipelines and ETL processes for analytics and reporting.
- Design and implement enterprise-grade data models and dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Looker, or Tableau.
- Bridge the gap between business and technical teams to translate complex requirements into actionable solutions.
- Promote best practices for data quality, integrity, and governance.
- Support cross-functional initiatives focused on data-driven decision-making.
- Provide guidance to junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of seven years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL and hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Azure Data Factory, Apache Airflow, or dbt.
- Expertise with cloud data environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Strong command of one business intelligence platform—Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Excellent communication skills and experience engaging diverse stakeholders.
- Preferred qualifications include proficiency in Python, familiarity with CI/CD practices, and a strong understanding of data governance and security principles.
Compensation and Benefits
Salaries for this role range between $76,300 and $130,800 CAD or $91,000 and $156,000 USD, depending on skills and experience.
