Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain PostgreSQL databases hosted in AWS RDS Aurora.
- Assist with daily tasks such as creating users, managing permissions, performing health checks, and verifying backups.
- Explore and support AWS features such as snapshots, parameter groups, failover processes, and read replicas.
- Manage database backups, restores, and replication.
- Troubleshoot basic performance
- Streamline database operations by creating/updating automation scripts in Shell or Python.
- Keep documentation updates
- Perform basic SQL query analysis, check indexes, and review logs.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of RDBMS, SQL queries, and relational database concepts.
- Understanding of normalization, indexing, and transactions.
- Know how to use the Linux command-line.
- Basic knowledge of Shell or Python scripting.
- Willingness to learn AWS database management.
- Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
- Awareness of AWS RDS, S3, and IAM basics.
- Basic understanding of GIT version control.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AWS RDS (especially Aurora PostgreSQL).
